The Orchestre National d’Ile de France
Behind the scene with Newzik & The National Orchestra of France
In May of 2017 Newzik met with the Orchestre National d’Ile de France for a trial that would last throughout the day.
For the trial 30 iPad Pros and Bluetooth foot pedals were to be shared among 50 of the 80 players (some would share the iPads)
Before this trial, the orchestra had long been looking for a solution that effectively could replace paper scores. Being an orchestra that travels a lot around the country, Orchestre National d’Ile de France carries with them lots of heavy scores which is simply not convenient. So when they heard about the all in one digital solution Newzik provide, a trial was quickly arranged to see just how much more effective this solution could be for them.
Created in 1974, the Orchestre national d’Île-de-France is funded by the Regional Council of the Île-de-France and the Ministry of Culture. Its principal mission is to bring symphonic music to audiences throughout the Île de France region, and in particular to reach out to new audiences.
